A smile, one of amusement, soft and affectionate curled up the corners of her lips, the woman shaking her head gently as she watched the boy, lowering the hand she had previously been holding up, her fingers still wrapped around the shape of a pair of scissors.
She tilted her head at him, reaching her other hand out to gently caress her son’s cheek.
“You want to look cool, huh?“ she repeated, something of a silent agreement lingering in her voice. It seemed just like they had an understanding.
“How about we tie it back, then? I’m pretty sure Thor wears his hair just like that.“ she offered, placing the scissors to the side, on the back edge of the bathroom sink, out of the boy’s reach.
“And then - we’ll work on the growing.“ It seemed to be a vital part of the look her son was going for, after all.
His shoulders shifted, straightening, and the hope in his expression grew. By the time his mother lowered the scissors, he was beaming as he scrambled onto his knees, gripping the back of the chair so he could smile up her.
“Ye–yeah! He’s gotta w-w….wear it back! So it doesn’t g…get in the way. When he’s fighting bad guys.”
Jamie was nearly bouncing in the chair now. It wobbled under his efforts, but Jamie caught it with a yelp and managed to shift before it could topple completely. Undeterred by his almost accident, Jamie climbed to his feet, standing as straight and tall as he could.
Which, at six and on the scrawnier, side, wasn’t very much.
“I-I…I…I’ve decided I’ve got to be at least as tall as you, Mum. And strong. Tha…that’s important. To h-hel…help people. That’s the c…cool part…” He trailed off, looking thoughtfully at his mother. After a few moments of deep consideration, a little furrow creased between Jamie’s eyebrows.
“What….d-do I have t-t….to do to grow…? Fast.” He vibrated with the impatience of youth.
I know it’s not Munday buuuutttt….a few of my recent lolita coords. And yes, it’s the SAME WIG EVERYTIME, but we just left summer behind and it was still too warm for my massive big curls. Also, I’m finally feeling like I actually have wearable coords that aren’t shoddy af. I’m finally a proper lolita.

(sends this ten years late with starbucks coffee) I just love how Jamie is the personification of sunshine. He has his cloudy days but overall he's just bright and wonderful.
Please tell me your favorite things about my portrayal/muse?
How dare u make me feel things on this night. (You’re never late. the door is always open at any hour for you in my askbox lol
Sunshine with bouts of clouds is honestly a good way to describe Jamie. I like that he and NIamh are both kind of like that, sunshiney people who have had dark, gray storms pass over their lives, but still came out the other side to see the sun again. That;s why they work so well together
